Denis Kolokol
Composer, performer, developer of interactive systems. Born in
Zaporozhye UA, currently lives and works in Kraków PL.
The main person behind the international festival Replica (Almaty KZ,
2006, 2007) for experimental music.
Started writing his own music in 2006 with the means of computer
(SuperCollider). Initiated theVolume duo in 2006, which become a trio
in 2010.
Prepared music and interactive sound-systems for theater.
Artist in residence in 2008 at SME of the Academy of Music in Kraków,
Poland (music/inter-media under the guide of prof. Marek
Chołoniewski); in CalArts, USA CA 2009 (via CECArtsLink), in Map
Extension, Huesca, 2011 ES.
As a composer and performer often combines non-intersecting or
opposite things: interactivity with algorithmic composition, granular
synthesis with sound poetry, etc. Mainly works with his own voice and
computer driven chaos.
